The Kingdom of God (Matt 11:12) – “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing and forceful men lay hold of it.”
I God has called us to rescue those who were lost and are now taken captive.
Satan captures and takes captive through addictions, sickness, emotional problems, and painful betrayals in relationships; whatever he can use to defeat and break a person with the ultimate goal of keeping that person from ever receiving Christ!
Its sad to say that many mistakes religious people have made actually helped Satan to capture and not release these people to freedom. They help to keep these people in bondage by condemning them for not being set free LOL.
This makes no sense to me. We are to set them free by laying hands on them and praying for them and loving them. Did Jesus condemn the prostitute?
It’s not about being good. Its about being Gods’. He helps me to be good through his goodness and righteousness.
I think about the commercials where there are images of mistreated animals in their cages. You can see the pain, hurt and mistrust in their eyes. I see that in so many people. I see the pain in the eyes of a person who is going through divorce, bankruptcy, addictions they can’t seem to break etc. What they don’t need is someone condemning them by saying maybe if you had not done this or that you would not be in this mess.
They are in a cage of pain. You have been given the authority to open the doors and set them free. Whom the Son has set free is free indeed!
YOU HAVE SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY (Matt 10:8) – Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. We aren’t to be passive when we have been empowered by God.
Matthew 4:19 – “Come follow me I will make you fishers of men”
This Christmas I will not be sad, this Christmas will be better than last Christmas. Why? because I’m focused on Christ. Isaiah 26:3 Thou will keep Him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
I know for many people this time of year can be hard. Many unexpected bumps in the road, some are more like ramps that seem to send you careening through the air and when you do land, you are hurt and bruised and knocked senseless.
I know for me the emotional pain was like being trapped in a burning building not wanting to jump but the pain of the flames made the jump seem like a better choice.
I’m better this year than last as I focus on the one who really loves me and gave Himself for me. What a Gift!
He willing, lovingly, faithfully gave me his life. Came and went through much pain and suffering for me. When I think of my past hurts, feel a little ashamed, it pales in comparison to the pain He went through for me.
When I just keep my mind on how much He loves me, how much He gave me, He gave all He had, Himself. And He did it willingly.
What Joy I have in knowing how much I’m loved.
He is the ultimate present; He gave himself to me! I want to give my life to Him. Great peace He gives!
And as Linus say’s in the Christmas play. “Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, goodwill towards men.”
MERRY CHRISTMAS, YOU ARE LOVED! DEB
Ever wonder why sometimes bad things were happening in your life? I know this last year has been the hardest of my life. But I have learned a lot about God and who I am. In the midst of this storm, He has been my rock and so have many others.
So just trust, don’t try and figure everything out. He knows the beginning and the end, we don’t.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. We need to do this in every season, good and bad.
We need to just trust.
We don’t need to figure it out!
Praise the Lord!
James2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
This gives us all something to think about. You know that going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, but it can help, provided you are in the right Church. Our daily actions should show our faith in God’s power. We should be living life in a way that is similar to the Savior. Going out and telling others the good news, praying for them and laying hands on the sick, healing the broken and suicidal. Sometimes we need to care just a little more than we do. If you are too selfish to care about hurting people then the word says your faith is dead. The word also says without faith it is impossible to please God. So to sum it up, if you have faith, you will get out there and care. However, if all you do is sit and pray all day without any good deeds, I guess your faith is dead. God gave us His Son, because He cared for us, and we as His saved children should be acting in a manner befitting a child of the caring God.
